About Me

Margaret Masterson, MD, is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist with a clinical focus on general hematology and oncology and a clinical and translational research focus on childhood cancer survivorship, research trials in acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the development of novel therapies for pediatric leukemia.

Dr. Masterson earned her undergraduate degree in biology and education at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School.  She completed her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she was also chief resident, and her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati Ohio. She was an assistant professor of pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital before joining the Cancer Institute of New Jersey in 2001.  She is the medical director of the Cancer Institute's LITE Program for childhood cancer survivors and a co-investigator of Children’s Oncology Group clinical trials at the Cancer Institute. She is board certified both in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
