Evelyn J. Rosa, director of the Middlesex College New Brunswick Center, has been serving the New Brunswick community for over twenty years. She is responsible for all aspects of the center’s services which include services and programming to college students and the adult population enrolled in non-credit credit classes. She is an active member on task forces at the college and externally. She serves on advisory boards and committees focusing on student engagement and success, initiatives to reduce food insecurity, creation of employment and educational services and opportunities for youth and adults, education about healthy relationships as a tool for reducing domestic violence and more recently, helped to create a new grant program for New Brunswick immigrant adults who want to explore health careers. She is the founder of the E.M.P.O.W.E.R. program (Encouraging Mentoring Peers on Work and Education Readiness), a college preparation program for first generation high school students which offers after school tutoring, college mentoring and access to college resources and incorporates community service.
